IHG Creekside in Parkville, MO —Stayed there in July and my child & 3 other minors got stuck in elevator for over an hour in which we were told by numerous staff, “happens all the time”. 2 weeks after stay there was an unauthorized charge to my credit card for $1255.00. Upon calling the hotel I was told it was for the elevator repair. Not once did anyone ever speak to us about the incident or even see how my son or any of the boys were. I then spoke to Lola the manager who was incredibly rude & disrespectful and hung up on me. Called back & got another girl at the front desk(don’t remember her name) and asked to speak to the manager again since she hung up on me and this girl stated, “I don’t need to take demands from you” & she hung up on me. I asked for video proof & the fire dept report that she kept implying showed that the kids caused the elevator to get stuck that day and all I did was get hung up on! How can you hold ANYONE liable for something that multiple staff members state, “happens all the time”, “people are always getting stuck in it”. Can’t believe that IHG, which is a global company hires such unprofessional people & that this company thinks it’s ok to make unauthorized charges to someone’s credit card because they neglect to maintain their properties to ensure it operates in a safe manner. I have since obtained the Fire Dept Report of the incident which does not report any wrong doing on behalf of the boys(contradictory to what Lola stated), filed several complaints with IHG & also disputed the charge with my credit card company. I can’t believe that such a big company doesn’t realize that unauthorized charges to someone’s credit card is illegal. Definitely escalating this to their corporate offices.
