Won’t pile on like 90% of the reviews as cyberattacks unfortunately happen and Garmin should have had a better response... but i can understand not wanting advertise the situation until they were able to resolve the issue. My feelings, going dark gave them time to decide to a) pay the hackers and get the data back which isn’t ideal but still an option or b) assess the loss, rebuild, if able, from offsite backups which would take time, and implement better safe guards for the future. I am disappointed like most, thus the 3 star rating, and the overall the lack of forethought... but overall I still enjoy the Vivoactive 4 I purchased and am hopeful Garmin learns a valuable lesson from this event. If not, I doubt they will recover consumer confidence. Garmin, be transparent in how you plan to address this issue and, what you will be doing to mitigate this situation from happening again to your customers.
