Unethical Business Practice

Their unethical business dealing doesn't even deserve a star!As a business professional, I have not experienced their sub-standard customer service until recently.An event booked through Eventbrite was cancelled due to COVID-19 so money paid by me was meant to be refunded back to me. I emailed to Eventbrite to inform them that unfortunately the bank account from which I had paid was closed and therefore could they organise to refund to my new bank account. Eventbrite customer service gave me the run-around, insisting that I had to wait 5-7 business days for funds to be transferred and then bounced back before they could look into it. After that, they insisted on proofs that the account was closed. Even with the written proof from the bank that the account is closed and that the money transferred back to a closed account would have bounced back to Eventbrite, they have the audacity to insist that the bank must write to them to confirm that the money has been sent back to Eventbrite.This is despite the fact that a letter from the bank written to them was already provided, clearly stating that “Any transfers or credits into this account or card number will bounce back to the bank the transfer was made from.”This is still not acceptable to them. I have been very patient and reasonable with regards to a simple request. I had also supplied the necessary proof of my bank account closure. What is very clear to me is that Eventbrite has an unethical approach of holding onto customer's money as long as they can.To date, I am still pursuing Eventbrite for the refunded amount.PLEASE NOTE IF YOU ARE AN ORGANISER FOR EVENTS, AND WANT TO DO THE RIGHT THING BY YOUR ATTENDEES, TRY TO USE AN ALTERNATIVE TO EVENTBRITE, LIKE HUMANITIX.
