Avoid D&W roofing and Insulation services like the plague!

I had a really horrible experience with a so-called 'insulation service' company this morning and to be honest, I'm still quite shaken and upset by it. I got attic insulation done via the SEAI scheme and had to get floorboards in the attic taken up in order for the contractors to put in the correct amount of insulation (300mm). I now have this but it has been a nightmare trying to find someone to put the floorboards back down this side of Christmas. Eventually, I got lucky or so I thought...by pure chance I found a company via a Google search and the guy I spoke to (Denis) said that he would be happy to do the job and that his "guys" (note my use of the plural!) knew what they were about, were fully professional and he'd send the around on the appointed day. Imagine my surprise this morning when only one guy turned up for the job who barely spoke a word of English and didn't seem to understand what I was saying when I explained about leaving a cavity between the insulation and the floorboards...Concerned at the seeming lack of comprehension and lacking in confidence that he would be able to do a decent job of it, I called the 'manager', Denis who was extremely unreasonable on the phone and seemed irate that I dared raise a concern at all. He replied that if I had a problem with his guy, he would pull the job as he didn't want to do the job in the first place and was 'doing me a favour' before Christmas. When I raised the fact that it seemed a job designed for at least 2 people rather than 1, he also said that if I "had a problem" with "his guy" then he would pull the guy. I explained that he was being totally unreasonable and that he wasn't doing me a favour as I was paying him for the job and he replied that he had plenty of other jobs and repeated that he was quite happy to pull his guy. The conversation grew quite heated and I stated that I found this a poor standard of customer service and hung up as it was obvious I would get nowhere with this guy and at this point, given his attitude to me, a paying customer, I felt I would not get a good service. I came off the phone call quite upset and shaken at how unreasonable and irrational he had been with me and I would caution anyone (particularly a woman-I doubt he would have spoken to a man the same way!) against using this company..... absolute nightmare of a 'manager' to deal with.
