I put an order in on July 29th for a new Alienware PC. I called them today so check the status because it has gone past the estimated ship date, to get a new ETA, and the guy told me "It's on hold until December 8th." I asked why, and he said it was a payment issue, so he transferred me to the finance department. Unfortunately he transferred me to the Canadian finance department, and I'm in the US. The finance rep was actually helpful at first, and told me there's nothing wrong with my payment account. Then he transferred me back to customer support, who then told me they can't ship my order because the payment wasn't verified within 48 hours, and she cancelled my order and told me "You need to call the sales department and put in a new order" "I'm not the one who messed up here, why should I have to contact the sales department? why should I have to wait another 2-3 weeks for my order to ship when I'm not the one who messed up?" I asked @Dellcares on twitter, and the response was less than helpful. I wasted 2 hours on the phone and twitter trying to get my order fixed, then I gave up. I ordered a new PC from iBuyPower, and they had my order shipped same day, 2nd day air, free shipping.Needless to say Dell and Alienware have lost a customer.
