I have a Dell 5430 rugged with the Pro Service support warranty. I've had the laptop since October 2023. In February 2024, the 5430 began to shut down randomly and frequently. I checked all the Dell support online "fixes" and none worked. I opened a service ticket online with Dell on Sunday 2/25 and received an email reply from Dell the next day. I ran a few more hardware tests with the online rep and on 3/4/24 was told I needed a new motherboard (BIG money but covered!). An onsite tech arrived on March 5 and replaced the motherboard - took him 2+ hours and he's serviced over 7000 laptops for Dell. That solved the shutdown issue, but a new, subtle problem arose. The "N" & "B" keys plus the spacebar on the laptop would not work. On March 6, the onsite tech returned with a new keyboard. It turned out that the original keyboard simply had a bad ribbon cable connection that was solved by removing and reinserting the ribbon cable. The tech had never seen that issue occur before either. The 5430 now works great, it's faster on boot and rock solid stable. All issues solved professionally and expediently. Not sure if it was the extra money spent on the Pro Service plan, but I've never seen better service on any computer I've owned since my first Apple IIE in the 1980's. I know, seems hard to believe with all the bad reviews listed here but I have every email and service record on file to back up every word of this review. Hope this helps!
