As a small business owner who has been on Facebook since 2007, I am absolutely disgusted and furious with how Meta treats its users — especially the small businesses that have helped build their platform.Recently, my personal account was suspended simply for sending private messages to local businesses to build a networking group. No spam, no bots, no harassment — just one business owner trying to connect with others. This was my first ever violation in nearly two decades of using Facebook, and the punishment? A total lockout. No warning. No explanation. No human to speak to. Just a soulless, automated system with zero accountability. What Meta has done is not just unfair — it’s unacceptable. I manage multiple business profiles through that personal account, and now I’m completely cut off from them. They have the power to erase years of work, connections, and effort in a second, with no regard for the real lives and businesses affected. To add insult to injury, there’s no real appeal process. No human support. No accountability. You’re just expected to accept their decision and move on. For a platform that thrives on user-generated content and relies heavily on small business ad spend, this is nothing short of hypocrisy. To other small business owners: be warned. Meta is not your partner — they are a threat. If they can do this to me, they can do it to you. There is zero protection for small businesses here. Don’t build your business on a platform that can take everything away with no notice, no logic, and no recourse.I’ve had enough of Meta’s arrogance, greed, and disregard for the people who keep their platform alive. We deserve better.
