I subscribed to Coursera Plus as a French business with a valid VAT number, but I was incorrectly charged 20% French VAT despite being eligible for a B2B exemption under EU law. I contacted support to request a refund or corrected invoice, explaining the legal issue clearly, but they closed my case without resolution. This lack of flexibility for business customers and failure to address VAT compliance is frustrating, especially for a platform claiming to support learning. I’ve canceled my subscription and will explore other options. Coursera needs to improve its customer service and VAT policies for businesses.
