Been a coinbase customer for years, and on Jan 21 someone hacked my account and bought $10 of TRUMP meme coin in my account and Coinbase charged a 10% ($1) commission. TRUMP meme coin at the time was OVER $40, and as I type this COINBASE is quoting under $30 for TRUMP meme coin. I reported this to COINBASE support and they locked my account and said they will investigate.It's not about the $10, I could care less about that. It's about COINBASE lack of SECURITY! I have 2FA set up to use the Google authenticator app. Someone has figured out how to bypass COINBASE SECURITY and place a trade in my account, that's the issue (not $10).Update March 3, 2025 - It goes from bad to worse. I had a support chat open , and without warning the CSR locks my coinbase account, which also terminated the support chat. I received an email to send a selfie with my DL and a paper which says "For Coinbase Verification" and "After we receive your submission, I'll review it and advise on next steps."I did all that, but nothing and it's been several days. Today I try to login, but it says locked and gives an option to contact support, but you can 't contact support unless you are logged in.If anyone from coinbase is reading these reviews, the email says "Case #22491845".At this point it looks to me like my Coinbase account is permanently locked and there's no way for me to withdraw the contents.
