I just returned from a two day get away and spent two nights at a Best Western in Olympia, WA I am very dissatisfied and will not stay at another BW ever again. This one is two stories but there is no elevator. So if you don't want to carry your luggage up the stairs ask for a first floor room. I chose a first floor room and my fear came true because I can hear people above me trotting around in their room. You can hear conversations in the hallway. My first day I was not in a big rush so I put the Do Not Disturb sign on the door and took my time getting ready. I took away the DND sign when I went out. When I returned that afternoon I found my room in total disarray. They did not clean my room. I was told my room was not cleaned because there was a DND sign hanging on the door. So I guess I stayed in my room too long and when they finished cleaning the other rooms housekeeping left, so the lesson is don't stay in your room too long in the morning or they won't clean it. That is so crazy. Probably BW contracts for housecleaning services and the crew does one hotel and then they're off to the next one. That is only one of the things that annoyed me. The refrigerator in the room is barely functioning. I put my water bottle in the little freezer overnight and it didn't freeze it was just chilled. I hope they check the refrigerator before the next person checks in. I left some watermelon chunks and a piece of pie in there. The furniture is old and needs updating. There is no USB port for charging your devices. Fortunately I was proactive and brought my own charger. My second night there I was awakened at 3:15am by two men talking loud outside my door. I heard everything they said because the walls are so thin. The bathroom is very small and the sink is outside because there's no room for it in the bathroom. You can see the plumbing underneath because they didn't even install a cabinet to keep the pipes out of sight. The free breakfast is kind of a joke. I only went there one morning because it closes promptly at 9:30 so get there early. There's some scrambled eggs and sausage, hash browns. There's a variety of fruit juice, not fresh of course. The coffee is what you would get in a cheap motel. Then there's bread, not even toast, just bread. I am so happy I only spent two nights there and I do not recommend Best Western.
