AT&T is refusing to unlock my Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 even though the installment plan was charged off and sold to a third-party collection agency over a year ago. They no longer own the debt, yet continue to block my device — which directly violates federal law, FCC unlocking guidelines, and CTIA’s own policies.I submitted an FCC complaint (Case #7890859), a CFPB complaint, and contacted AT&T’s Office of the President. Instead of honoring federal unlock laws (47 CFR § 27.16 and Public Law 113–144), they gave vague, internal policy excuses and denied my unlock request. This is an unacceptable abuse of power and a deliberate obstruction of consumer rights. No company should hold a phone hostage once the financial obligation has been met through charge-off and debt sale.AT&T needs to be held accountable and forced to unlock this device immediately.
