I spoke to an agent about applying for a card. He sold me on the air miles reward system. I received the card and used it straight away. Made a purchase with my new American Express card and then paid that amount immediately. I tried to make a second payment and it didn't go through. The card had been blocked. I contacted American Express and they said they required bank statements from me to get the card unblocked. I forwarded the documents via PDF on email. 10 days later, no response. I called customer service and spoke to a person called Monique and she said that they tried to contact me on the phone but couldn't get through to me??? She then said that the documents I forwarded were in the incorrect format???? PDF wrong format???? It seems as though this is a common issue with ex American Express card holders.Honestly, I believe they got scared that a person can make a purchase for several thousand pounds and pay it off straight away and receive air mile rewards without much money earned from their side so they just blocked my card and then Monique had the bare-faced cheek to lie about trying to contact me and saying they couldn't download the PDF format documents I sent. Firstly, I emailed them and they could've easily emailed me back if there were any issues. Secondly, we are in 2023 and to say that can't access PDF files......that's how all financial institutes send me documents.They perform this charade with so many people. Very peculiar organisation.
