Have an American Express loan

Have an American Express loan. My second. Every month, both loans, once I submit monthly payment, my balance goes down. Obviously. Last month after payment, my balance went up. There was a charge for "interest on purchases". Tried to explain on phone, on chat and with supervisor that I pay 36 equal monthly installments and it is impossible for loan balance to increase and that there could not be any "interest on purchases" because this is a loan. Got nowhere. No one listened. This month no additional charge and my balance decreased. Will not go back to try to correct beause it is not woth my time or aggravation. Have been a customer since 1984. Was shocked at the incompetence and lack of interest. When paid off, my last loan. Also, canceling my card. Do better American Express. We expect it of you and deserve your attention.
