Informed “no problem” in the U.K. so requested today in NYC. Amex informed that no SSN yet. No problem was answer from 2 advisors. 30 minute application on phone with pleasant lady.Application made on the phone. DECLINED 😡Reason - NO social security numberHow disorganised is this company having informed them with same reply x3 times by 3 different advisors that SSN not needed.Amex used to be one of my favourites of all companies. But this is a joke. Tell me it can’t be done without an SSN but don’t put me through this farce, it was pathetic. Final assistant, hearing my POLITE frustration about a waste of time in making a wasted application told me it was not right to be rude and put the phone down. Sorry Amex, you need to get your act together. Shame I like being a loyal Amex member. 🇺🇸🇺🇸
