Been an Amazon customer for a long time…

Been an Amazon customer for a long time but my experience over Christmas has caused me to close my accounts with them and all subsidiaries due to their ineptitude. Ordered an item as a present which upon opening on Christmas morning was empty. So was stolen by someone at Amazon in their network. Logged with Amazon who asked to report to police with a crime reference number. Did that despite the item not being stolen from me but within their network but wanted it resolved. They then said they needed the whole report. This isn't what it says within their email so I complained and kept being escalated until they decided to just cut me off. In the end I got the report from the police and sent it to them to receive no response for a week. Chased them and they said it wasn't what they needed. But they couldn't tell me what they did need. So still in limbo trying to get a refund or replacement. No official complaints procedure means if anything goes wrong you have to deal with the people on chat who have no idea and just follow their script. An absolute joke of a company who people should just stop using. Convenience isn't everything.
