We have been members since 1994, and were happy with the service the first decade or so. The local office closed, and the nearest one now is a 2 hr drive. I called them (Morrow Ga location) for details on an international driving permit (the Macon Ga AAA now ONLY sells insurance). After a 20-minute hold, I left my number, and have received no callback (2 hrs ago). Worse, I broke down near Athens, GA. I called for help and received encouraging news. I got a call an hour later saying the nearest help was stuck in traffic in Atlanta. After another hour, I called a friend who lived only 45 minutes from my location, who arrived with a tire iron just before my dog had a heat stroke. I would suggest that AAA hire some customer service people so that they would be able to make good on their promises; otherwise, they should tell the truth and say they are only interested in the high profit parts of their company (as the Macon office has done).
