Review of booking

Unable to resolve a simple double billing. Awful experience

We had a problem with a property that we booked via booking.com. At check in, despite the 9.2 rating (!) it was so bad we decided to not stay. We paid the property cancellation fee and found better accommodation. Booking.com then charged us the same cancellation fee. I asked for a refund of the second charge. A week later I am so frustrated with the lack of useful response from customer service that I have turned the matter over to my credit card company to resolve. I clearly laid out the problem several times via chat and email. Responses were all off point, my chat was cancelled for inactivity after just 24 hours, the claim form won’t open because it said I was late responding ( I responded in a few hours - well within the 10 day window). I got an email asking me to rate customer service before I got any other response. As of today, a week later, my request for a new claim form has been ignored, emails I sent have bounced and the simple issue of double billing for cancellation has not been addressed. Nightmare and it’s quite a lot of money at stake

Review of academia

Be very carefull ACADEMIA IS A SCAM!!

Be very carefull in December 2023 I subscribed for a €. 5 offer for one Month subscription and before the ending I cancelled it. To my surprise on the 6th February 2025 they tool €. 247.76 from my paypal account, then I noticed that they had already took €. 169.00 for the renewal in 2024!!! This platform is a scam, I blocked the automatic payments and deleted the account. From other complains I see that this is the norm, I did write to ACADEMIA immediately and this is their reply: "Thanks for contacting us regarding this Academia Premium payment. Unfortunately, we are not offering refunds for any Academia Premium renewal payments at this time, and we see that this payment falls outside our refund policy that we also describe in our terms of use in our "subscriptions" subsection." Therefore they comments to these complains will not fix anything!!!

Review of nokia

Disappointed

I Have my Nokia 8.1 for nearly a year now. I can say it is an absolute waist of money except for the good camera. My phone is keep losing the network, I have to restart it each time to get back on track. I was on to the customer care team few times and said it is the problem of apps I have downloaded... I have tried it in factory reset with no other apps and it still keep losing the network. On top of that my battery won't even last a day with very little use... Thinking of getting a new phone now...

Review of aliexpress

Is AliExpress buyer protection real? Or just a marketing slogan?

UPDATE- 01.07.25:Even AliExpress Admits I’m Right… But Still No RefundLatest email:“Regarding your query about the order 3053842756702620, we have verified that the evidence you provided is valid. But as you filed a chargeback, we can’t do anything.”So, to recap:They admit my proof is validThey refuse to refund meThey apologise (again)And… nothing happensBuyer Protection, AliExpress-style: You’re right, but you still get nothing.UPDATE: 30.06.25AliExpress’s latest reply: “Your order is frozen now that you’ve filed a claim with PayPal. We can’t help, please check your email for more empty apologies.”In summary: buyer protection here means “we’ll do everything possible to avoid helping you directly, but we will apologise… a lot.”My saga continues, now featuring both AliExpress and PayPal in a thrilling game of “pass the parcel.” Stay tuned!UPDATE: The “Free Return” Promise — More Slogan Than RealityWhat really stings is that AliExpress markets “Free Return” as a guarantee — it’s everywhere on their site, and it’s a huge reason buyers trust them. That’s why I did. But here’s the reality: I followed every rule, documented every step, returned my item with full proof (including tracking, signature, and even a complete evidence pack)… and yet, not only did I not get a free label, I had to pay return postage out of my own pocket. And after all that? Still no refund, and endless runaround. So for anyone tempted by those reassuring “Free Return” banners — be careful. In my experience, it was just a marketing slogan, not a real promise. One Star for AliExpress: A Masterclass in Buyer Protection… or Not.If you’re here, you probably expect AliExpress to be a global marketplace that protects its buyers. Well, buckle up — I’m about to share the real ride.I ordered a “stainless steel” stand mixer for £85.99. What arrived? A heavyweight aluminum circus without a handle, with attachments that could rival my old toaster for flimsiness. The splash guard? Left a gap wide enough to launch dough missiles. The instructions? Pure Chinese mystery, and the mixer itself bounced around like it had springs attached — dangerous to use, and utterly misleading.I followed the rules like a pro: I opened a dispute, hit the return button, and sent it back within the 10-day window AliExpress promises after your return request is accepted. I documented everything — tracking numbers, signed delivery receipts, a full PDF evidence pack hosted on a shared drive (which, by the way, only I have ever accessed). The return was received by their warehouse, with a signature and all.And then… the fun began.AliExpress’s official response was a lesson in contradiction:• Email 1: “You’re too late! Appeal closed. No refund.”• Email 2: “Appeal rejected, proof insufficient.”• Email 3: “Please send us a clear return label and tracking number.” (They already had both.)• Chat agent: “Don’t worry, we escalated your case.”• Silence for days.Did anyone actually look at my evidence? The activity logs say no.The kicker? The seller changed the entire product listing after I’d started the dispute — swapping out photos, descriptions, and basically admitting the product was not as advertised. But did AliExpress care? Nope.So here I am, stuck in a Kafkaesque loop where:• You’re supposed to trust the marketplace,• But when things go wrong, you fight for months with contradictory messages and radio silence,• All while your money stays with a seller who no longer even sells the item you ordered. Is AliExpress buyer protection real? Or just a marketing slogan? If you want a true test of your patience and proof-gathering skills, this is the place. And if you want your money back? Prepare for a long, winding ride — with no guarantees.AliExpress, thanks for the drama. But next time, I’ll remember that the “buyer protection” might actually mean “buyer endurance test.”

Review of aaa

Thank you Dakota and AAA

We were very impressed that in just 8 minutes AAA sent Dakota with his tow truck to rescue us after our truck died. Dakota was so wonderful!! He was polite and friendly, highly skilled, prompt and efficient. He carefully loaded our vehicle onto the tow truck, and maneuvered his tow truck through the tight parking spaces at the repair shop to deliver our truck. Thank you especially to Dakota for the excellent work and to AAA for the prompt assistance.

Review of symantec

Avoid automatic subscriptions at all costs!!!

Wow! Our experience was maybe 4 years ago but it still leaves bitterness inside and I will share. We had an old laptop in which we subscribed on a monthly basis for Symantec updates to protect our device and every month Symantec automatically deducted our checking account for this fee. We gave up the laptop because it didn't work anymore and Symantec continued to charge us for the automatic subscription even after we have made many attempts to let them know we do not have the laptop anymore. The 1-800 is BS, no one called us back or we were patched through different voice prompts that didn't take us anywhere we needed. We have emailed only to receive an auto reply that our email is undeliverable and so we finally called our bank to stop payment on the charges but even the bank couldn't help us because it's an online authorization made with our debit card...now we are furious because even is as bank owners cannot make the bank place a stop payment on this subscription and we have no means to contact the company to let them know we need to cancel the subscription. It was very disappointing and extremely furiating!! Never again do we plan to use this company. One of those lame subscription companies getting rich off of member subscriptions and forcing us to continue to pay. It's a form of stealing and after 6 months of this crap, we never got our money back for it.

Review of asus

Who made these laptops??!!

Who made these laptops??!!My dad bought 2 Asus laptops from Norway and gave one to me. I was using it and it was fine until randomly one day IT WON'T TURN ON. I went to get it fixed but they couldn't fix it. My dad bought a laptop from a diff brand and gave the other Asus laptop to me. I don't really use the laptop, only occasionally. It was fine at first but then one random day I went to use my laptop and pressed the power button, IT WONT TURN ON so I just leave it there then like a month after I tried to turn it on again and it turned on yay! But then after like 3 days I went to use it again but surprise it WON'T turn on. Why is this happening to me😔 I only use it for simple things. Am I the problem?I hate Asus. who made these laptops I want to beat them up so bad

Review of 99designs

I used 99 designs to start out with a logo for my small online business

I used 99 designs to start out with a new business. I wanted to start with at least a logo. I was very impressed with 99 designs and their business model. I entered a contest for my logo. It was amazing to see all the different talent and ideas that they come up with just for you. I would use them again and may be using them again in the future for future needs. I would recommend them.
