I reluctantly joined whatsapp at the request of family members when they were abroad as it looked like it was a cheaper way to communicate. To be fair the exchange of messages, photos & calls seemed to work well at first. Regrettably though what it's now morphed into is a nightmare 'free for all' of crackpot sales calls including recruitment agencies from over 17 years ago. I am now getting an almost daily bombardment of unwanted excrement from over 30 countries, no matter how many blocks or privacy terminations I put on the wholly ineffectual internal controls. This has become yet another annoying service completely beyond any fitness for purpose.
