Do not book with VRBO! They do not follow their own policies. In my case, the rental description did not reflect the real condition of the property. The property was in a bad condition and not as described. The owner admitted that the description and photos were more than 10 years old. In the meantime, the place got totally worn out. The showers had black mold, the toilet door couldn’t be closed so there was no separation to the living room, countertops and floors were extremely dirty and greasy, septic tank was defective so that dirt water with toilet paper and human waste flushed in the toilet came out on the patio, flooding the entire BBQ area. We even found secret surveillance cameras! When filing an official complaint with VRBO they just said it takes time for them to review, so effectively they did nothing, even though their policies clearly describe the terms of a rental description. They just told us to address the situation ourselves with the owner. Which we did. We moved out right away and even though the owner agreed to refund us, we then had to chase VRBO for the refund, even of their fees. A couple of weeks later they got back to us on the complaint, saying that they closed the case. No changes were made to the description, no actions were made. Inaccurate property description is not ok and totally misleading, especially secret video surveillance is an absolute no! The property can still be rented and the rental description remains unchanged and misleading. AVOID VRBO! No support whatsoever. They don’t even follow their own policies. Customer service is rude and does nothing!
