Guests: Please stop booking through VRBO. I have been hosting properties through VRBO since September 2022. They could quite possibly be the worst company I have ever dealt with and I can't figure out why people book on the platform. I have seen VRBO do awful things to guests. I have on more than one occasion had VRBO cancel a guest's stay the day of arrival and tell the guest that I cancelled their stay. Then the guests contact me super upset. I tell them I didn't cancel and that they can submit their request again and then they think that I'm doing something scandalous and they book elsewhere after my calendar has been blocked for months. Almost every guest who books with VRBO contacts us with issues. VRBO tells the guest that we the hosts are responsible for these issues and we aren't: I can't see a guest's credit card info. I can't update a guest's email address. I can't even respond to guest inquiries in the VRBO platform half the time. I rarely can even login to VRBO. What a nightmare this company is. My best advice is for guests to please stop booking through their platform. By booking with VRBO your are just opening yourself up to all kinds of issues that make absolutely no sense at all. I can't tell you how many guests contact me angry or upset because of something VRBO did and then told the guest was the fault of the host. I have considered so many times just removing our properties from VRBO but we also receive lots of bookings from VRBO. I have no idea why because the company is absolutely terrible. TERRIBLE! I have spent hours on the phone with their customer service team but have never received any help at all. I spend time because guests insist that VRBO is waiting for me to contact them to solve whatever issue VRBO invented for the guest for no apparent reason. The things they tell guests are ludicrous. PLEASE stop using their platform. You will be so much more satisfied, I can assure you.
