We booked through VRBO for an overnight stay in the Lady Maxwell Room at Buittle castle in Scotland The description on the website stated’ An Arts and Crafts room in a medieval Castle’ this is totally inaccurate. In fact you are staying in what could only be described as an outhouse unconnected to the castle The description also stated ‘ beautifully appointed’ which stretches the imagination when the en-suite bathroom has a badly cracked sink, an ancient toilet and mould along the base of the shower tray. In addition the room was full of ancient cobwebs, needed repainting and with the position of the double bed you needed to be a gymnast to extract yourself from it.Overall badly described accommodation which I would never set foot in again.
