VRBO's Book with confidence policy is a joke.I booked a VRBO through Expedia for June 14, 2024 at Cas Pueblito in Vieques, PR. The booking was created and confirmed on June 11, 2024. Once the listing was confirmed I booked airline tickets, ferry tickets, car rentals and Kayak tours. Less than 24 hours before check in on June 13th, the owner decided to cancel my reservation because it was "double booked" and issued a refund for the VRBO, however, the re-booking team did nothing to help find me another place, they simply told me I had to find my own lodging and gave me a budget that was $300 below anything available in the area. As you would expect trying to book something withing 24hrs....everything was already booked up. They also declined to give me a credit for future stays. I lost over $1500 because of this.I was stranded in Puerto Rico without a place to stay with my wife and 3 kids. If I would've tried to cancel the reservation myself for any reason It would've not been refunded. But they can cancel the day before with no penalty!This is by far the worst customer service experience I've had with any business. I wouldn't not suggest doing business with them, because when things go wrong VRBO will leave you hanging abroad like they did to me and my family.
