We rented a condo for the week after Christmas. I had not heard about check in information so called. Apparently it was already rented and we were stranded with my 6 year old son. Called VRBO, spent 60 mins on the phone and was told that they would reimburse us for up to $638 per night at a hotel for the firs two nights till they could rebook us and to make the reservation through one of their sites or with the hotel directly. We did. I was also told that someone would call to rebook us immediately after the call and 3 hours later, still no one had called. So called back, because we were no staying in a tiny room with no refrigerator and all this food for 6 days I was upset and the woman hung up on me. I called again and was escalated to resolutions team. Giovannie assured me I would get reimbursed and to send him the itemized bills, I told him for the whole week and he said yes. Again the first person said we would be reimbursed for the first two nights but since we had to throw away all our food, pay now for all of our meals and be stuck in a tiny room instead of a lovely 2 bedroom condo, I was adamant about this. Well comes to sending the itemized bill to Giovannie and crickets. Nothing, called and emailed. Still nothing, escalated it to another person ( who promised to help) and escalated and after many many hours on the phone and being lied to many times, we are now not getting reimbursed anything. Because our stay was less than the original price. Never mind that it was not with all the food wasted and meals we then had to purchase. And they lied as they said we would be reimbursed. I will now only use Air B n B and I will not use anything Expedia or VRBO related. BEWARE
