DO NOT USE VENMO******* THEY WILL HOLD YOUR MONEY FOR A "REVIEW" WHEN YOU DO A TRANSFER AND YOU WILL HAVE TO GO THREW HELL AND HIGH WATER TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK! THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A BUNCH OF LAZY, INCOMPETENT, UNHELPFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS WHO WILL BASICALLY TELL YOU THEY DONT KNOW WHY THE COMPANY IS HOLDING YOUR MONEY AND TOO BAD IF THATS A PROBLEM! If I could leave negative score of stars I would! 14 emails, 20+calls, 5 days and a night slept in a car later and they're still holding my money! My husband transfered me money since I'm in a different city on business and my wallet was stolen. I needed that money for a hotel room. Sunday morning he made the transfer to me and venmo flagged it for review (which means they hold your funds up for however long they want). NO ONE IS THERE ON THE WEEKEND TO HELP! So I had to send an email. I get a response asking me to verify my acct info and completely ignoring any questions I had. I send them the info and they said that it's incorrect info. Bulls*** I replied with screen shots and a pic of my i.d. and the same question why and how long. The next response was basically I don't know and hopefully within 1-3 business days. Are you kidding!?!? I asked again and explained my situation and tried to get someone to help me. This went on for a bit to which the same response came from different reps basically I don't know and too bad. By this point I started asking for them to get me intouch with the department that can help me and answer my questions. It's my money your holding and you can't tell me w During the string of emails I called multiple times to get the same answer and no closer to get my money. Finally someone messages saying the department that handles transfers will be intouch within 12 hrs and I should get my money within 1-3 days. It's now been 24 hrs and 4 days and I haven't gotten a response or my money. I called got placed on hold then hung up on and sent 2 unanswered emails. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Venmo! They are a bunch of scam artist! I've contacted a lawyer in regards to filing a lawsuit against Venmo and he was baffled by this sad but true story. I have the email to prove it. FU Venmo!
