I had bought a ticket to see Epica & Dragonforce at the HMV Forum in London on 6th December 2014. About a week prior to the concert I received a letter from Songkick saying that my ticket was inside. As I have purchased tickets for other venues where the ticket is the confirmation letter I thought nothing of this.
When I arrived at the venue I was told the following:
1) The letter was just confirmation that I had bought a ticket. It was not the ticket itself. I should have received a ticket with the confirmation letter.
2) I would not be permitted entry with just the confirmation letter.
3) I should make a complaint to the ticket provider.
Fortunately the box office agent took pity on me and I was permitted entry since the event was not completely sold out.
I probably won't be buying future tickets from Songkick. Instead I will be buying tickets from the venue or the venue's recommended agent like I normally do.
