If you want a balanced, objective and honest review.. Screenrant is not where you’ll find it. Across all related companies you’ll find a persistent distortion of facts to portray a false narrative. The most recent ‘review’ of the Acolyte and the audience backlash is reframed to paint a picture of botting and/or racist/bigoted/sexist comments. The argument entirely ignores the reality as evidenced by simply reading the enormous volume of audience reviews that all share the same common complaints. The writing is awful, full of mind blowing logic errors, campfires in space, flammable rock structures, and so much more. The characters are undeveloped, unrelatable and the decisions they make are baffling. Amandla’s portrayal of the twins is unbearable as she is unable to convey any emotion leaving what should be epic moments feeling boring and detached from reality. The decision to portray the murderous duo in this series as the ‘hero’ team is baffling in a universe that has always prided itself on a clear distinction between good and evil. If the intent was to show a sympathetic villain there needed to be a great deal more character development but at its heart this series is just a tale of revenge and an out of place romance. In not one of the articles from Screen Rant are any of these problems discussed, acknowledged or rebutted, we simply get an excuse driven narrative that describes this series as something exciting and fresh. Integrity is something that once lost, can never be earned again and Screen Rant you have no integrity whatsoever.
