Poor Quality Food

We did our second RCL cruise on Ovation of the Seas. This trip was a 3 week relocation from Honolulu to Sydney via Tahiti and New Zealand. Having been on the same ship immediately pre-pandemic we thought we knew what to expect.The food in the main dining rooms and also Windjammer (buffet) was very hit and miss. Either over-cooked or microwave reheated. They couldn't cook a decent steak or make a decent accompanying sauce in the dining room. Vegetables? Worst ever! And miserable portions. We complained to the Maître d'hôtel several times and he was very helpful - but the chefs were either untrained or working with the worst ingredients. Thank goodness for Izumi - the Japanese speciality restaurant.We have to say all of the staff were absolutely great from cabin steward to bar and wait staff. We also enjoyed the entertainment. Not sure we would ever travel on RCL again.
