Have been satisfied with several sitters we found on Rover. Unfortunately, one sitter who came highly recommended neglected our dogs to the point that they were all sick when we picked them up after 5 days in his care. One was even recommended to be put down by the vet and needed several meds and treatment to keep going. Spent over $600 on antibiotics and meds without any reimbursement from Rover. They claim to back their sitters but ignored our vet letters and bills. We were so disappointed with the reactions of both Rover and their star sitter James. Boone seemed to care that we left 3 healthy dogs and came home to such sickness. The one who got the sickest never recovered and was eventually put down 4 months later. Still no reaction from Rover or James. We were cautious and eventually found another sitter recently who had a great meet & greet and took great care of our 2 remaining dogs. We feel better about Rover and realize that a meet & greet is essential to get a good read of a sitter and if they will take good care of your dogs. Don't trust a star rating or reviews. James has great reviews but is essentially responsible for one of our dogs deaths. Be careful if you book with Rover.
