Extremely Disappointed – Not Worth the Price or Hassle purchased December 22, 2022I’ve had my Google Floodlight for almost two years, and for the past year, I’ve been getting constant low battery warnings. Despite being well taken care of, cleaned regularly, and barely used, it’s always dead or suddenly shows 1% battery life. It doesn’t even get direct sunlight, isn’t facing a busy street, and only detects occasional deliveries or when a car pulls into my driveway—yet it still fails to hold a charge. (hard wired in to main power)For such an expensive piece of equipment, I expected better. I have a full Google smart home ecosystem, and honestly, I regret it. The floodlight doesn’t integrate well, fails to provide reliable security, and doesn’t “stay smart” for more than a year. My battery-powered Google doorbell performs better, which makes this floodlight’s failures even more frustrating.Security should be dependable, especially during difficult times, and right now, dealing with the recent passing of my children’s father, I shouldn’t have to worry about a floodlight that doesn’t work. I can’t see my front yard, and it leaves me feeling vulnerable. While the initial setup was easy, the long-term reliability is simply not there. If you’re considering this product, I strongly recommend looking into other ecosystems. Don’t waste your money on something that won’t last.
