I’ve had a Nest Learning Thermostat for 2 years, 2 months. (The product itself is fantastic. It’s the customer service that is awful beyond belief.)On Friday the Heatlink failed. (and going by this thread, mine is not the only one).I spent hours on Saturday calling Goggle and messaging via twitter. Each time I got the same response. They have REFUSED to supply a replacement Heatlink and suggested I buy a second hand unit on ebay or source one from an installers spare parts (but due to the volume of heatlinks that have failed, no one has one for sale). So the only option presented to me is to purchase a whole system of thermostat and heatlink.I have never ever heard of such appallingly bad customer service. I understand that I am out of warranty, but I expect to be able to replace individual parts of a system. And I also expect to pay a reasonable price and do not expect to have to replace the whole system. Also with current legislation, manufacturers need to ensure goods can be repaired for up to 10 years.I am now in touch with UK trading standards about this failure and the possibility, as suggested by installers I have spoken to, that this issue has been potentially caused by a google software update.
