I recently made deposited 500usd to Namecheap via BitPay, one of their officially supported payment methods. However, their Risk Management team locked my account, demanding a bank statement descriptor that does not exist for BitPay transactions.Despite explaining this multiple times and providing a valid BitPay transaction receipt, Namecheap refused to acknowledge their own payment system and kept insisting on a credit card descriptor. Their lack of knowledge about their own supported payment options caused unnecessary delays and frustration.I currently have $500 locked on NameCheap that I am unable to access or use. As a European customer, I will escalate this issue to the European Consumer Centre (ECC) Network for support. Additionally, since NameCheap is a U.S.-based company, I will also file a complaint with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to address this matter. If you plan to use BitPay or crypto payments with Namecheap, beware—they might lock your account and refuse to help. Extremely disappointing customer service and verification process.UPDATE: They have now solved the issue and given me access to my account again.
