On 3/9, my wife and I had our 34th Wedding Anniversary and we went to Macy's to buy an Anniversary Ring. Oh, I can tell you, my wife tried them all on, and the bargain ring looked the best on her fingers. I bought it for a great price. We paid the extra charge to get it sized. The Saleslady told us that it would be ready before 3/20, "Maybe even less than a week." No phone calls... We called Macy's on 3/17. They told us that it was incoming from the Jeweler, that they would be closing the stores on 3/20, and maybe reopening April 1st, (April Fools Day...me), and that the Manager would give us a Phone Call. No phone calls... I am a patient person, yet when I received notification the first week of April that the bill was due 4/24, when I had not received the material, I calmly got upset. I finally actually got a Customer Service person at Macys.com. They told me that it was showing they had the item and that a Manager comes in every couple days to check it out. No phone calls, but I emailed the Manager. The Manager told me that they had the ring to come to the front of the store call her, and she would come out and give it to me. I decided to call her on the phone and explain to her that the ring was to be Sized, and she looked it up physically, and OF COURSE, the Jeweler had never sent the ring, since the staff was NOT WORKING due to the Coronavirus. I disputed the Bill, of course, especially since these Macy Credit people, (as we all have experience), are SO QUICK TO THROW ON A $35 LATE FEE WHEN ONE ONE OWES $25!!!! They told me by email that I would not have to pay a LATE CHARGE OR INTEREST FEE while it is in DISPUTE, BUT I KNOW MACY'S CREDIT CARD SYSTEM WILL AUTOMATICALLY ADD IT ON. I know this is a bad time, yet Macy's could not have made this a more unpleasant experience for us if they tried!
