Ridiculous security and 1.5 hours wasted

I live overseas and tried to order off Macy's website today. I placed the initial order, and it was cancelled. So I called customer service, gave them all the verifications they asked for, and placed the order a second time. It was cancelled. I call customer service again, get put on hold (yet again), only to be told that, because I'm overseas, the order can't be placed. My order wasn't even going overseas - I was shipping to a US address. All the verifications, OK'ing the charge with my credit card company, etc. - none of that was good enough. All in all, I spent over 1.5 hours on the phone before deciding to take my $300 somewhere else.I don't blame the poor phone operators - they're just doing their job. I'm glad for security rules that keep my credit info safe. But this is overly protective, and they're missing a huge overseas market.
