I purchased a mattress from Macy's on 11/17. The payment method that I used was Klarna. At the time, I did not have the $881.91 that was needed for the mattress, so I decided to use the provided 3rd party payment system, Klarna. I made the payment and checked out. The mattress was delivered on 11/30. I then received a phone call on 12/4 stating that the payment was not authorized. I thought to myself, if the payment was not approved, how is it that i'm laying on my mattress as we speak????. I then contacted Klarna and asked what the issue was, and they advised that Macy's never authorized a payment, and that it was still pending. They advised that all they would have to do is authorize the payment, and Klarna would be able to take care of the rest $881.91 (divided by 4). Called Macy's back, and they advised me that the only option that I had was to pay the full $881.91 in full because Klarna was a 3rd party company and they don't deal directly through them. Now keep in mind, it's Christmas season...this amount was TOTALLY unexpected! Instead of paying 4 payments of $220.47, i was told that i now had to pay $881.91 in full in order to keep the mattress that was already delivered. I will NEVER do business with Macy's EVER AGAIN! I then talked to (what i believe) was their retention department, and explained the situation. I tried to get some type of discount from the purchase, and he said, "well it looks like it's paid in full, so we should be good". I just hung up the phone after that. I had been on the phone with them for over an hour at this point and i was SO over it! If Macy's does not know how to work with Klarna, please remove it the HECK off your website as a payment option!
