Several years ago Macy's closed my account without telling me because I did not use it enough. I had an online account which was not removed. After boycotting Macy's for years due to poor protocol, I returned, opened a new account and made a purchase. I received the bill and attempted to pay it online. It told me I already had an account. I went to that account and tried to add the new card. It would not allow. The first person did not listen and we went round and round in circles. After doing so she transferred me to another person who after many holds over and over said he would send me a code to identify myself and allow a refresh of the account. Instead sending a code he sent permission for text and advertisement. Then he said that he had to send a letter. Mind you it was now over two hours of my time before I gave up. I asked for a supervisor. I waited quite a while to hear that nothing could be done. I told her I was canceling my account. I said goodby. My husband was in the room. I thought I hung up but the supervisor was still on the line silently. My phone on the desk. I said to my husband well should I close the account or leave it open and not use it. He said forget it. Leave it. I said I can always use another credit card. Mind you I haven't stepped foot in Macys for a bunch years. With this a voice sounds" I am still here and yes you can use another credit card" in a joyous way. Well she thinks she got me. I told her since she was not helping me and pulled this stunt for sure ,I would never enter a Macys again. My bill was paid in full with the first CS rep I have no need for Macys or their credit card.
