Lyft stranded tourist

Lyft asked me to add a second card with an American address...I am not American. I am a tourist. I am now stuck outside the airport. Their support told me to wait for hours for the "specialised" team to respond. I told them I feel unsafe outside the airport. They stopped responding. How did this company not think that tourists without American addresses might use their app?
