Beware LG's Service. It isn't...

Purchased an LG C2 model television. From the outset the unit would randomly power itself off and then back on. Because we have two other TVs in the house and this one was little used, it took a month for me to call it in.First call the LG "tech" took me through a long list of menu items to check. Problem here is that she didn't have an updated copy of the menu that was on my televison so I had to hunt around until I found the items she wished to check. Good job LG. Another issue is that LG supposedly has an app that allows their techs to go into the customer's TV and check menu items but hers wasn't working. Good job LG. We left off with me performing a factory reset on the TV which takes a lot of time so we ended the call. That was 45 minutes I'll never get back.Well fast forward to a week later (today) when I called again because the power off condition was not resolved. Again a long checklist of troubleshooting steps but this time hampered by a very poor phone connection. Eventually she had me hold while she attempted to reset her phone connection. That took 15 minutes and when she came back on the line she couldn't hear me at all. She said she was going to attempt to reset her phone again. After 20 minutes of me holding I finally hung up and only then discovered that she had sent an text saying that SHE was going to hang up and call me right back. Of course my phone doesn't notify me of texts when I already on a call so.....So here I sit with a $2800US television which is useless. I've spent nearly 30 in IT, most of it working with hardware. I know I to diagnose equipment and I can recognize when components are defective as opposed to an issue with software or settings. This thing needs a component replacement but LG seems to want to do everything but that.Almost 15-years ago I was in an appliance store looking at an LG refrigerator. One of the salespersons of some 14 years of experience came up to me and advised that I consider another brand. She cited LG's service and parts availability as the reason for her recommendation. Wish now that I had the hindsight to extend her warning to all of LG's products....
