Brand new laptop, they refuse to fix under warranty

Bought a new laptop from Lenovo about 8 months ago. It lives in my house and I am the only person with an account on it to use it. I am very careful with it. One day after using it for a few hours it starts making a very loud noise with the fan. After extensive Whatsapp chat with Lenovo support they allowed me to book a repair without wiping all my data first (in case that's what was causing the noise?!?). I send it off for repair, and hear back a couple of days later that "the problem was caused by Customer Induced Damage (CID). This is full CID, no in warranty work can be done." This is totally incorrect. So now it seems the warranty on a Lenovo machine is worth nothing.I buy laptops for my business and usually go for Lenovo for the build quality but after this I will be 100% switching to Dell. Disgraceful customer service.
