One of the most horrible places I have ever worked for in my life. My old store STAYED bringing in new managers for what it seemed like every damn year. No offense, but mostly men. Wouldn’t even introduce themselves to employees. They would just swing by your department and menacingly glance over. That’s it. Thank heavens, I will be graduating college come next semester. The managers could care less about their hard working staff. They will literally watch over you like a HAWK. If you don’t work here, u have a better chance of getting away with stealing. Meanwhile their watching u to see if u are going overboard with overtime, clocking in/out on time, taking ur break in EXACTLY 30 mins. You’ll feel like a prisoner after working here for so long. I had to quit this stupid “company.” And it was the best decision yet. This job is also great for teens/young adults <22. Simply because they will work u until ur mental wheels fall off. You’ll start out as a cashier or outside all day getting baskets. Personally getting baskets was way better because I had a lot of time to myself and didn’t hear no nagging customer telling me “CAN I GET PAPER!” Smh. Trust me, u do not want to work at this place full time. If ur part time and are seeking full, u have no chance in hell. My old store played favoritism. Only people who were tight with the kiss a$$ managers were treated special. Or put “in charge.” They do not give AF about part timers. This week ur working 40 hours,16 the next. If u live on ur own, and only work 16 hours a week, u won’t be financially independent. I tried to live off of that and could NOT. Then the minute u ask for more hours they constantly feed u BS. No offense to the people who’ve been working here for like 20-30+ years, but u young folks please get ur education! Ur college degree will take u so much further than working here for a lifetime making scrap money. U will not have enough money working here to take vacations, go on trips, maybe go overseas for the first time, or a cruise. Kroger’s salary can not afford to get u there. Work here on the weekends part time, but get ur college degree full time.
