Kickstarter is a website that facilitates scammers, it is basically a money laundering website for the most part...Campaigns that you back regularly never materialise any reward or are out and out scams...My latest scam on Kickstarter is a company called Bantal Pillow who advertised shipping to be $7-$10 to the UK, days before the campaign was due to be funded they quietly updated the delivery prices to $30-$35 without informing backers to give a chance to cancel their pledges. The campaign ended at 7pm on XMAS EVE knowing people will be busy over the holiday period. On 19th Jan I got a survey through telling me I now had to pay $54 for shipping + taxes which is more than the initial pledge.I asked to cancel and Bantal claim they spent the entirety of the pledged money on materials without posting any proof or any proof of trying to find cheaper postage options. They have refused to let backers cancel or get refunds. They know people will refuse to pay the extortionate shipping costs and they won't need to fulfil their rewards. Kicksterter enable this to happen and do nothing to help backers because, why would they? they have already taken their cut of the proceeds...
