This Infusionsoft review is mainly a comment on the lack of integrity of the company, with a reflection on my experience with using the software to manage my business funnel added in.Before signing up with Infusionsoft, I’d done a LOT of research looking for the exact customer management/segmentation software system that would meet my specific needs. These needs became clear after reading Ryan Deiss’s book Invisible Selling Machine. Prior to that I’d read his article “How we Grew a Blog from Zero to 6 Million“. This got me pretty excited since I own two high traffic websites with similar audiences to the Survival Life site he’d built this massive income from, plus a mailing list of already over 10,000 subscribers to get me started. The main income Deiss generated was by being an affiliate for Clickbank products. All that was missing for me then was some kind of software that would segment subscribers based on whether they bought a Clickbank product or not.So I approached about 10 funnel of the top software companies and asked them if their product could do that or not. All but Infusionsoft said no. A sales rep from Infusionsoft then phoned me, assured me their software was exactly what I needed, and signed me up. It was pretty expensive but with the possibility of even making 1% of what Ryan Deiss had achieved, seemed like a good investment. It took almost two weeks for Infusionsoft to actually connect me up with the compulsory and pricey tutoring on how to use the system, and then I was away. Unfortunately I quickly discovered that Infusionsoft’s software did not in truth have the inbuilt capacity to segment based on Clickbank purchases, unless you actually owned the Clickbank product. And even that required buying an extra plugin. If you were an affiliate you had to get a programmer to configure each and every transaction. This was most disappointing.I approached Infusionsoft for a solution but none was forthcoming. I naturally then requested a refund, but they asked me for proof that I’d specified what I needed up front. Since my original inquiry was through their online form, they of course were the only ones who had a copy of it. Similarly, I had no record of the phone calls where I had reiterated the importance of this functionality. And Infusionsoft point blank refused to provide me with copies of these. In the end I cancelled the contract and to add insult to injury, got slugged a massive cancellation fee penalty (over $600 AUD) on top of everything else. All up, this experience with their company cost me close to $2000 and generated very close to zero income. My Infusionsoft review of using the actual software was similarly disappointing. I’m sure it works wonderfully well in the right hands, which is probably why all the big boys use it. While I’m far from being a dummy, using it was definitely not in my zone of genius. It is simply not intuitive. I tried, for example, to stop a funnel process and then discovered it had run anyway. If you’re a big company who can afford to hire an Infusionsoft techie to do it for you, good luck to you. But if you’re a lean start up, the learning curve will just take you away from doing the things that matter.
