My experience with IKEA has been an absolute nightmare since April 18 2024, It is now May 23 2024!!!!We purchased two nightstands & had Taskrabbit come to put them together. One of the nightstands was defective so IT COULD NOT EVER BE PUT TOGETHER!!! . Although IKEA replaced it, THEY WILL NOT REFUND THE MONEY THAT WE PAID TO TASKRABBIT IN ADVANCE TO PUT THE NIGHTSTAND TOGETHER, BUT NEVER GOT PUT TOGETHER. Instead they offered a gift card which we immediately declined… THEY SENT IT ANYWAY!!! … we told them day one we wanted The money refunded to our credit card since it’s IKEA fault the item could not be put together .NOTE: The refund we requested is only a $36 refund to our credit card. They refused not once but 7 different times with 7 different reps (one woman getting nasty telling us we got a gift card what more do we want??) She couldn’t Understand my point was THAT I DID NOT WANT THE GIFT CARD… ????So we drove 40 miles to the store, & spoke to a SO-CALLED Supervisor named WENDY & after 40 minutes she told us she was changing the gift card over to a refund on our credit card, we just had to wait 2 wks for it to go thru. We requested a copy in writing of this, but She said there was nothing she could give us & we just had to be patient. We left the store knowing deep down in our gut we would be back! ! Well we waited the 2 weeks & as we suspected we received nothing again! so I called Corperate & Corperate informed me that No one in the store , Including Wendy the supervisor ,has the ability to give $$$ back on a credit card? !!! The only thing that they are at liberty to do is give out a gift card , PERIOD!!!! So back again, we drove 40 miles to IKEA this time to speak with an on duty manager named Jesse, who said he’d be off the next day but would PERSONALLY see to it that something got done & that we’d get a call. He took our personal info & phone number & said he would follow up & himself. ,& AGAIN WE GOT NOTHING!!!So to wrap up …EVERY SINGLE PERSON WE HAVE DEALT WITH EITHER ON THE PHONE (telling me a supervisor would call me back & then didn’t) & IN PERSON HAS BLATANTLY LIED!!! Both Representatives & supervisors . To me that says the company itself is telling them to do this!!! How can it be every single employee is the same way???? This must be policy… “ LIE TO THE CUSTOMER AGAIN & AGAIN, THEY WILL GET TIRED & FRUSTRATED, & THEY WILL GO AWAY!!!”ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC, UNPROFESSIONAL OUTRAGEOUS. DISGUSTING BEHAVIOR.!!! So sad! This company clearly has no honor , no character & no self value that they think nothing of lying to your face like they do!I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone due to this & I would NEVER recommend their products to anyone since they don’t feel they have any responsibility in returning your money when their sub-par products cannot be put together! They obviously think people have plenty of time on their hands to sit around & wait for somebody to TRY TO put something together FOR HOURS, THEN HAVE TO WAIT FOR A NEW ITEM TO BE DELIVERED, THEN HAVE TO WAIT AGAIN FOR THE SAME PRODUCT THEY GOT THE FIRST TIME TO BE PUT TOGETHER ALL OVER AGAIN, & HAVE TO PAY FOR IT NOT ONCE BUT 2X AS WELL!!!I am seriously considering small claims court if this review does not end with a $36 refund on our credit card!. And if I do, I will be filing for not just the the $36 Lost to taskrabbit, but also The return of both night tables .($357) I still have in my possession & THAT I WILL GLADLY RETURN . court fees,($30,) the 3 hrs of time I spent back-n-forth to IKEA ($225) ), plus whatever amount of hours I’m not working & sitting in a courtroom because of this. I get paid $75 an hour , so if court takes 3hrs wait time, IKEA would possibly be looking at a minimum bill of $836 bill when all they had to do is put $36 back to my fathers card!!! Does this make sense to anyone? ,ANYONE??, BUELLER ??? BUELLER????#UTTERLYRIDICULOUS
