I buy an Ikea toy kitchen in Italy on Ikea.co.uk in December 2023, after a few months we move to London and this toy kitchen does not fit in our new house. I enquire at Ikea Italy to return it here in the UK as I have the receipt and am within the 365 day return period, they confirm (and send me the policy valid ALL OVER THE WORLD) that I can return it to an Ikea shop and be refunded (I change my mind). I inquire at Ikea UK customer service who start throwing up excuses saying that for them the document issued in Italy is not legible because the tax matrices are different and it's as if I don't have a valid tax document. And so they cannot organise my return. They ask me to go with the item (which specifically weighs more than 20 kilos) to a store to possibly get an assessment for the return and resell service (the item is not even among those that Ikea takes back at a minimum price). The result is that once again Ikea proves to have very bad customer service and violates its own policies to the detriment of consumers, I lost 129€. Last time
