Arrived on first day at dinner time at the Holiday Inn IHG Portsmouth.Dinner was included in our stay. I ordered the "Soup of the day", Tomato soup with White Ciabata bread.The first clue was that the "tomato soup" wasn't Red, lacked any taste at all, and, the Ciabata bread came as Bloomer bread, toasted.I ordered my main course, "Hand Battered" Haddock with chips. Never before been served "Soggy Batter" on fish, only description, disgusting.At another dining table, about 20 feet away, a female diner thought it normal to speak on her mobile phone, loudly. But, never before have I had to endure hearing the other side of the conversation, too. She actually had her call on speaker, loud. I knew her mobile speaker was set to loud, because some 20 feet away I could hear every word both the female diner, and, her caller could say.I complained to the Hotel Restaurant staff about the extremely rude female diner, who said she would ask the diner to take her phone off "speaker".The diner completely ignored the request, and, having had our dining experience thoroughly ruined, we left for our Hotel bedroom.Never again will we eat in a Holiday Inn IHG Restaurant, what's worse is we have already paid for a second night with dinner included.I cannot recommend anyone to dine at the Holiday Inn IHG Portsmouth, UK.
