Complaint Handling and Violation of Rights by ICO

I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the ICO's handling of my complaint regarding the serious violation of my rights by my GP, (Copsewood Medical Centre). Despite my legitimate request for access to my medical records, the centre has been delaying the provision of these files for over five months, which is a clear breach of the regulations. They have also demanded an unjustifiable fee and are attempting to dictate the format in which I receive the files, despite the law clearly stating that patients have the right to request their records in the most appropriate form.When I raised this issue with the ICO (Sarah Brown), I expected a thorough investigation and fair consideration. Unfortunately, my complaint was dismissed without any proper investigation. I was denied the opportunity to appeal, and no meaningful action was taken against the GP. This is not just an oversight but a failure to uphold the basic human rights to which I am entitled.I am extremely concerned that the ICO, which is supposed to protect individuals’ rights, has shown such disregard for these principles. How my case was handled suggests a lack of competence and raises serious questions about the integrity of the organization.This experience has led me to believe that the ICO is not fulfilling its duty as an impartial regulatory body and is instead contributing to the perpetuation of injustices like the one I am facing. I urge the ICO to reassess its procedures and ensure that complaints are handled with the seriousness and attention they deserve.
