Not the usual Hilton experience you get in smaller cities.....

We're at the Hilton Midtown NY. Six night stay for a large tech conference. The room is nice, and it's comfortable. When we arrived the lady behind the desk said that we were "late" check ins. It wasn't even 9:30pm. Then she tried to say our room was gone and put us in something smaller. When my husband started getting annoyed she managed to find it finally. Imagine that. Thank you Darlene for starting our stay off with attitude. There's no coffee pot in the room, no fridge, no microwave. Even the cheapest hotels in the middle of Arkansas have these amenities! At almost $500 a night, what's up with that? We had to "rent" a microwave for $35 for the length of our stay. Seriously the worst part is not having a coffeepot! No, I do not want to pay the $15 minimum to order coffee from room service. No, I do not want to get up first thing in the morning, and walk across the street to Starbucks. Utterly ridiculous. Very disappointed.
