We were promised our State Pensions at 60 when we left school, paid in yet the government cruelly decided to change the age for women with little time to build up or start a private pension fund or indeed the financial ability to do it. The changes were poorly if at all explained to women of that generation.The government should recind this change to allow women to retire then legally require all aged 18 or after further education to have either a work based or private pension scheme in place. Also allowing women to leave work at 60 which will allow others who have lost their jobs through Covid-19 to get back to work and those leaving school or uni the chance to get on the employment ladder and less rent,council tax and unemployment benefit to be paid.
