I have been completely unable to get windows 10 to recognise my hero10 black either to transfer / view files or to use it as a webcam.Identical results with my laptop and desktop with a fresh install of windows 10.I see the gopro quik app is now obselete and no replacement is planned( 'No longer in development').The only way to transfer files seems to be to remove the card and use a card reader. The camera itself seems OK (but limited in practical ways like battery life and significant limitations using external power ) It also overheats and I had to purchase a third party accessory to be able to attach a safety lanyard -really for an 'action camera'?But without any viable connectivity it is not very usable.The response from gopro has been to either insult (have you turned the camera on?) or suggest I should change my windows 10 computer for something else that is compatible.It is clear from the web this is a widespread problem and the strong suspicion is that the camera is deliberately crippled in order to sell their cloud subscription.Cheap chinese cameras do (a lot) better than this.
