Before booking Auschwitz tours with GYG everyone needs to understand what you are getting yourself in for. I paid nearly £100 for self guided tour only to find out by text message that this does not include or guarantee tickets on the day of the visit. You are basically paying that money for transfers and when you get there you are asked to wait 4 hours in a queue to try and secure some of the tickets that are available that day. Auschwitz is a museum and is free to enter, you are being charged solely for travel and a cheap brochure that is given to you. The original time on GYG website was a 9am pick up, the message we received the day before changed that to 5.20AM. This is so they can get you there early and you can get in line quicker.Do yourself a favour and book through the actual museum website who provide a guide and a time, or use someone like Mr Shuttle who are clear and concise and won't cancel your tour last minute.
