Someone representing themselves as working with G2 contacted me with a remote job opportunity as a Data Analyst and said I could start the training immediately. The training soon transitioned into doing actual work as an employee. However, I was not formally onboarded with completing a W2 or any other paperwork. I was told that would happen after the training was completed. I was told that employees need to maintain a working account to cover business expenses in order to receive commissions the their work. I made a couple of deposits but did not get good explanations of why I needed to do this as an employee. It became clear that the amount of the commissions would always be less than the amount of money I was told to deposit. I informed the trainer that I would not deposit anymore money and I wanted the money back that I had deposited. She said I needed to complete my next work order to get my money back but I could not start the order until I deposited more money. This is obviously a trap to keep extracting money from people who think they are working to earn money.
